The University of NSW acquires an automatic robotic book scanner

The University of NSW acquired, from DatacomIT, a DL-mini robotic book scanner manufactured by the Swiss Company ‘DigitalBooks’.

The robotic scanner is operating extremely well within the University Library and is exceeding their expectations. The DL-mini is equipped with a patented air-flow page turning process and an air-cushioned book cradle. Together they ensure the gentle handling of the books without applying pressure or tension on the spine.

The University of NSW has another robotic book scanner, and the DL-mini compliments this device to allow for a near total range of book types to be scanned. The DL-mini is suitable for all books up to 2 x A3 in size and can be operated in automatic or manual modes. Proven Swiss reliability that allows an operator to undertake other tasks whist the DL-mini automatically scans each book.
