The University of South Australia (UniSA) and the University of Adelaide are set to merge, creating a new institution named Adelaide University, scheduled to commence operations in January 2026. This merger, backed by the South Australian Government aims to establish a globally competitive university by combining the strengths of both institutions.
As the University of South Australia (UniSA) moves toward its merger, it has launched a significant initiative to preserve its rich history and community experiences through the Time Capsule project. This digital archive, powered by the Recollect platform, invites staff, students, alumni, and the broader community to contribute personal artifacts that reflect their time at the university.
The Time Capsule serves as a “people’s history,” aiming to capture the diverse experiences that have shaped UniSA over the past 34 years. Participants can upload materials such as photos, documents, videos, and audio recordings.
DatacomIT is incredibly proud to have been part of this meaningful project. Preserving history is at the core of our mission, and it’s a privilege to support the University of South Australia in capturing the stories and milestones that define its legacy. We extend our best wishes to the university community as it moves into an exciting new chapter with the upcoming merger.
