DatacomIT has been involved in providing scanning, and document management and archiving solutions for over 20 years. We are fastidious in all segments of the document management and scanning process cycle and have developed specialised software that converts scanned image files to PDF, TIFF, JPEG virtually any format, as well as OCR/OMR/ICR translation. We have developed quality control software which allows us to guarantee scanning conversion accuracy. Once the documents have been scanned, translated and indexed we can then make them available to you our customer via doXweb, our in-house developed document management solution. DatacomIT provide doXweb as a hosted solution giving our customers complete control and access to their digitised documents via the web.
DatacomIT understands the requirement of some of our customers who look for a safe method to archive their documents. Whilst hard copy documents and even digital files have a limited life span, datacomIT is well equipped and offers the conversion to microfilm once the documents have been digitised; see workflow diagram on left of the page. Microfilm when created and stored properly has a life expectancy of over 500 years. It is the medium for preservation and will be around a long time after we are all gone.
