We are deeply saddened by the news we received last week about the fire at the Moonee Ponds Courthouse – “irreplacable historical artefacts dating back to the last 1800s have perished after fire ripped through the roof of the former Moonee Ponds Courthouse” (Moonee Valley Leader), and have offered our services (complimentary) to digitise to the value of $5,000 to help preserve the microfilm collection.

The Courthouse operates as a museum and holds the collection of historical material related to the local area. It features items from the collection related to WW1 in the local area, including journals, letters, photographs, badges and other artefacts that survived the conflict.

We are thrilled to announce the Essendon Historical Society has accepted our offer and we will help support the preservation of the remaining historical material for the community.
