About the Role
A fantastic opportunity now exists for an enthusiastic Service Technician/Engineer, where your experience in any or all areas, such as Photographic, Photocopiers/Scanners, Digital Photography or Micrographic Digitisation systems, would be an advantage.

Based in Melbourne, with some interstate travel, you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager where your proven track record for providing exceptional technical support, will be the key to your success and customer satisfaction.

Your role will involve:

  • Carrying out installation, maintenance, repairs and testing in all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Photographic and Micrographics equipment
  • Maintaining the safety and integrity of all serviced products in accordance with all relevant safety standards and Company Policy
  • Ensuring maximum up time on all equipment
  • Maintaining and managing sufficient spare parts stock
  • Ensuring machine operators are aware of operating and emergency procedures
  • Undergoing factory training as required
  • Interstate travel throughout the year with an average of between 5-20 days interstate
  • Assist in all engineering requirements including but not limited to equipment technical support

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

  • Proven field service experience
  • Mechanical and/or Electronics background
  • Digital Electronic and/or photo optics experience
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills and ability
  • Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools, soldering, power tools and test/inspection equipment
  • Quick learning skills, prepared to learn new machines and systems as required
  • The ability to understand the issues and provide appropriate solutions
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to meet company performance targets
  • Have a passion for delivering excellent customer service, be well presented, confident and courteous when interacting with staff and clients (as required)
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skill
  • The ability to work without direct supervision and/or within a team environment
  • A current Victorian driver’s license is essential

Working hours:

  • Flexible 8 hours per day; or 40 hours per week
  • Overtime maybe needed at times due to the demand in technical support

DatacomIT is seeking candidates with exceptional attention to detail, a great attitude, and excellent people management skills to join our growing Photographic and Micrographics Digitisation Operations division as a Production Supervisor. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced environment. It will be required for this role some photographic technical skills, initiatives, and continuous process/procedure improvements mindset.

Some of the expected main tasks, but not limited to, are described below:

  • Ensure that all jobs in production are completed within their prescribed turnaround time
  • Ensure that the KPI’s set for each job and team member are achieved
  • Ensure effective operational communications to all production team leaders and operators/officers
  • Provide daily/weekly status reports for all current work to the Production Manager (or Operations Manager)
  • Ensure standard costs are maintained and where possible reduced
  • Ensure that all production equipment is maintained in proper working order through regular maintenance
  • Ensure that the morale of production staff is maintained at the highest level
  • Maintain quality assurance procedures for all production activities

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Good knowledge of processing procedures involved in the Photographic and Micrographic imaging area
  • Knowledge in all photography methodologies and Imaging in general
  • Technology-based skills should show intermediate knowledge of Networking and Windows functionality
  • Effective understanding and use of time management
  • Experience with Scanning and Capture Software, prefer Capture One
  • Good communication skills and people management skills
  • Desirable to learn new technical skills
  • Able to ‘dig deep to get to the bottom of the root cause and suggest solutions/improvements
  • Able to show creativity in developing efficient process/procedure
  • Able to handle pressure due to fast pace environment and tight project schedule

Working hours:

Position Description
DatacomIT is looking for a dedicated individual who will be fully invested in the successful deliveries of all projects. The role is responsible for all aspects of each project with the mindset of driving each project to its completion within a given timeframe, budget, and scope of work. It is a hands-on position, which acquires exceptional positive attitude and the abilities to excel under pressure and tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Involve with defining the project scope and objectives
  • Manage changes in the project progress, scope of work and delivery expectation. Escalate to the Production Manager, as required
  • Coordinate with other departments (including external resources, as required) to ensure compatible and support the entire project team towards completion of multiple projects
  • Develop a detailed and comprehensive project progress/delivery plan and monitor each project milestones
  • Prepare documentation and create regular status reports, presentable to the management team as required
  • Communicate directly with the customers in relation to any materials’ anomalies and/or clarify the project specifications and timeline expectations

Additional Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the performance of each project and organise Lessons Learned workshops
  • Measure each team member’s performance and involve with suggesting ways for their personal development
  • Encourage and motivate staff members to achieve short- and long-term goals
  • Assist with general and any ad hoc administrative tasks as needed

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9am to 5:15pm with the possibility of working overtime, if necessary

We have a number of opportunities for enthusiastic individuals with the additional opportunity to learn new skills or upskill in areas relative to the conversion of hard copy records to digital content.

Although digital reproduction and image capture experience is advantageous, if you have work experience in a hands-on role in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment, your application will be strongly considered.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and scanning of documents and or other material i.e. negatives, photographs etc…
  • Monitoring image quality as part of an overall quality assurance process
  • Meeting and exceeding the required KPI

Three (non-rotating) Shifts are currently available.

  • Shift A: Sunday to Wednesday (7.00 am to 5 pm)

  • Note: 30min lunchtime
